Today, October 13th, the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Dr. Stela Grigoraş held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Christine Freilinger, with the representative of the Ministry of Social Protection of the Republic of Austria, Mr. Gero Stuller and the project manager of "Labor Market Support Programs", Mr. Walter Reiter.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Freilinger mentioned that the Republic of Austria and the Republic of Moldova have an effective collaboration in the social field, contributing significantly to the implementation of the Government's reforms through the Concordia Foundation and the Liaison Office of the Austrian Ministry of Social Protection in the Republic Moldova.

In turn, Dr. Stela Grigoraş has appreciated Austria's openness and support over the years, noting the importance of expanding and consolidating the cooperation relations between the two countries in the reforms initiated by the ministry, such as the field of employment, social inclusion of persons with disabilities and the development of social services.

Gero Stuller reiterated the need for continued collaboration between both countries, and in this context, he presented two bilateral projects to be launched this year. Thus, starting 1st of November, with the support of the Republic of Austria, a social dwelling for 5-8 people will be built, which will be deinstitutionalized from the psycho-neurological boarding school in Branzeni town. Similarly, beneficiaries will be supported and guided by a team of professionals to learn independent living skills. The social housing will be built according to Austrian and European standards.

The second project will be focused on supporting the implementation of the National Employment Strategy and the Action Plan in this area. Thus, the project leader, Mr. Walter Reiter, stressed that this project will provide all the necessary support to the ministry in the process of modernizing and streamlining the occupational policies. In this respect, they will contribute to the promotion of active occupational policies, social dialogue, vocational rehabilitation and cooperation between economic agents and the Employment Agency.

Dr. Stela Grigoraş thanked the Austrian side for initiating these projects in our country, reiterating the importance of planning technical sessions where each action will be discussed and analyzed.
