Vaccination campaign against COVID-19 has been extended to people aged 60+ and those with comorbidities
For the efficient organization of the vaccination process, the National Agency for Public Health distributed 14 400 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 to the territorial public health institutions from the batch of 50 400 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, donated by Romania. The rest of the vaccines are reserved for the second dose to people who were vaccinated with the first one.
Thus, the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 will be extended to the following target groups, included in the second stage of vaccination: adults over 60 years old, people with comorbidities (high risk group) and people aged 18-60 years with comorbidities for which COVID-19 infection poses an increased risk of severe forms and death.
At the same time, the vaccination of medical workers in medical institutions, including the staff/beneficiaries of Shelters and Temporary or Long-Term Placement Centers, continues.
We would also like to note that, currently 38 643 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
